On August 29, 2026, Autism Sanctuary celebrated the official opening and ribbon cutting of our new outdoor pavilion—a shaded home for agriculture programming, gatherings, and everyday farm life on the Edgefield property.
The pavilion was made possible with generous support from the Virginia Outdoors Foundation’s Get Outdoors Fund. Established in 2020, the GO Fund helps projects across Virginia expand access to safe open space—especially in underserved communities—through planning, programming, and infrastructure. We’re grateful VOF saw the value of a durable outdoor workspace where adults with autism can learn, grow, and belong in nature.
From the first posts and framing to today’s ribbon cutting, members, staff, volunteers, and partners poured hours into making this space real. It joins our high tunnel, gardens, trails, and animals as another place where services fit the person—not the other way around.
