Getting our members safely to the farm, into the community, and home again is part of everyday care. In 2025 the Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization (CA-MPO) amended its Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to include Autism Sanctuary’s purchase of paratransit vehicles.
Amendment #13, adopted by the CA-MPO Policy Board on October 22, 2025, reflects Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 funding for Autism Sanctuary, Inc., along with state funds and a local match. Earlier TIP updates in August and September 2025 first added and then adjusted the project block as FTA figures were confirmed.
Those accessible vehicles help us expand community outings and reliable transport for adults we serve—especially as our day program and waitlist grow.
